Rose-Hip Vital® Canine (500g)  $70

Rose-Hip Vital® Canine is a 100% natural anti-inflammatory that may be of benefit for improving the joint health and general well-being of active and aging dogs. It’s also a powerful antioxidant, a rich source of vitamin C, and is safe, scientifically proven and registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).

The unique property of Rose-Hip Vital Canine is the special patented compound which is activated during the patented drying process, causing it to act as natural anti-inflammatory.

Benefits

May be of benefit for improving the joint health and general well-being of active and aging dogs.

  • Rose-Hip Vital Canine is made from 100% pure and natural Rosehip fruit with no additional additives.

  • Rosehip is also known to contain one of nature’s most natural sources of Vitamin C.

Directions of Use

Use in pregnant and lactating animals is not recommended as safety has not been established.

Dosage and Administration

Mix with food once daily. One level scoop (included) = 2.5 g
Contains: Rosa Canina (Rosehip) fruit powder 1000 g/kg
Store below 30°C (Room temperature). Protect from light.

Body weight (kg)  Initial daily dose (3 weeks) Maintenance dose
(daily)
Up to 15 kg 2 scoops 1 scoops
15 – 30 kg 4 scoops 2 scoops
Over 30 kg 6 scoops 3 scoops

Results are typically noticed after three weeks. If possible mix with food morning and night. Should your dog suffer from chronic inflammation it is safe to administer the loading dose ongoing. If you are using Rose-Hip Vital® Canine as a preventative there is no need to administer the loading dose.

For dogs weighing less than 7.5kg
Technically you could halve the dose for dogs up to 7.5kg and expect the same results. The recommendation would be to administer the full loading dose until results are noticed and then slowly reduce the dose until a balance between cost and effectiveness can be achieved.

NOTE: The more Rose-Hip Vital® Canine your dog takes, the more effective it will be. While it isn’t possible for your dog to overdose on Rose-Hip Vital Canine, if your dog has a low tolerance for vitamin C any excess will be excreted. The appropriate dose might also depend on whether Rose-Hip Vital Canine is being used as a treatment or for prevention.

Tips for fussy eaters
If you already know your dog is a fussy eater, the recommendation is to gradually introduce Rose-Hip Vital Canine. Start with a small pinch of powder and slowly increase to the recommended dose over time. Other tips to get your fussy dog to eat Rose-Hip Vital Canine include mixing it with wet food, mince, sardines, tuna, yoghurt, cottage cheese, milk, raw egg, butter or stock.

For dogs with a history of stomach sensitivity
Introduce Rose-Hip Vital Canine very slowly. Start with a small pinch of powder and gradually increase once tolerance has been established.

NOTE: Part of the APVMA (Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Association) approval process for Rose-Hip Vital® Canine included a 3 month tolerance study involving the administration of 5 x the recommended loading dose to 5 dogs for 3 months. At the conclusion of the study no adverse reactions or side-effects were detected.
